Sunday in Northfield the Eagles played the Millers for the first time. Starting for the Eagles for the 3rd Sunday in a row was John Bannigan. John pitched a complete game shut-out scattering 6 hits 2 walks and a hit batter for a 4-0 win. The defense turned 2 double plays and Gary Barbo had a diving catch in left field to help stave off a Miller rally in the 6th. The game was 1-0 heading into the 7th when the Eagles scored 3 runs on 2 hits and 2 errors by the Millers, Rob Giesen got a RBI on a FC and Gary Barbo got a RBI on a single to left. Eagles at the plate, Brian Neibaur was 2-3, Matt Stevens 1-3 with a double and 1 RBI, Jerry Peer 1-3, Brian Hall 1-2. The Eagles don't play again till June 30th when they travel to Belle Plaine for a 7:30pm game

Last night the Eagles beat the Jordan Millers 6-1. Starting for the Eagles was Dave Frey who pitched 6 strong innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits with 3 walks and 9 strike-outs. Jim manfred came in to pitch a scoreless 7th inning. At the plate the Eagles scored 6 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks, and 4 Miller errors. The eagles scored 4 in the 4th on 1 hit and 3 errors after 2 were out. Matt Stevens drove in the last runs in the 5th with a 2 run double. Matt was 1-3 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Others getting hits (Jim Manfred 1-3, Jerry Peer 1-2, Colin Quinn 1-1, Gary Barbo 1-3)
