With errorless, sparkling defense behind him, Ken Schmidt tosses a complete game, two-hit shutout.  He allowed just three runners to reach base, all in the second inning. 

Randy Biehn broke a scoreless tie with a solo home run in the fifth. 

Le Center's bats were quiet early in the game, but erupted for nine runs in the seventh inning.  Eight were scored with two outs.  Jim Becker walked, Schmidt reached on an error, Chuck Kennedy singled home Becker, Grant Anderson reached on a fielder’s choice, Lynn Schwarz reached on an error, Biehn singled in Anderson, Tim Palmquist delivered a two-run single, Chuck Squires walked, Steve Biehn plated two with a single, Jr. Tish singled in Squires, Johnny Martinez reached on an error, and Becker’s single plated Tish before Martinez was nabbed at third base. 

The Braves' nine-hit attack was led by Randy Biehn and Palmquist, each with two hits and two RBI.

The Braves prevailed in a tight game at Bloomington.  Randy Biehn pitched out of several jams with runners in scoring position and only one out for the complete game win. 

In the third inning Ken Schmidt walked as did Jim Becker  and Lynn Schwarz delivered a two out single to score Schmidt. 

Insurance was added in the eighth inning as Becker singled, Jack Frey singled, the runners moved up on a wild pitch and Schwarz this time delivered two RBI with another single.

Veseli Vulcans 11  LeCenter Braves 0 

The hard hitting Vulcans used their twelve hits to capitalize on four walks and four errors in a lop-sided contest at Veseli.  

Bruce Frey, Steve Biehn and Jr. Tish shared the mound duties for the Braves.  Jerry Novak effectively scattered five Brave’s hits. 

The Braves drop to 2 and 4 while the Vulcans are now 4-6

The Brave’s action heats up after the July 4th break with three games in five days.

Union Hill Pit Bulls 2  LeCenter Braves 0 

In a pitcher’s dual between Randy Biehn and Jim Weiers, Union Hill topped the Braves 2-0.  Biehn allowed just four hits, but three were back to back to plate two Pit Bull runs in the third inning.  Weiers scattered six Brave hits to gain the win. 

It got exciting in the top of the ninth, with a runner on, Tim Palmquist almost tied the game when he just missed the right field foul poll. 

The loss drops the Braves to a 2-3 record while the Pit Bulls are unblemished at 5-0

Randy Biehn was strong on the hill, allowing just four hits and fanning nine.  Ron Hill was on the mound for the Saints.  Once again good defense aided the win.  

The game was scoreless until the sixth when Tim Palmquist led-off with a single, Rob Blaschko and Ken Schmidt each received a free pass to load the bases.  Johnny Martinez plated Palmquist with an infield single and a throwing error allowed Blaschko to score.  

An insurance run was added in the seventh as Biehn singled, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Chuck Kennedy’s single.

The Braves could muster only a single run in the fifth as Chuck Kennedy singled, stole second and scored on Tim Palmquist’s single.   Three Tapper hurlers stranded eight Brave’s baserunners.  

Eden Prairie plated two runs each in the fifth, sixth and eighth innings off Brave’s starting pitcher Ken Schmidt. 

Kennedy again led the offense going two for three

An early lead and strong pitching and defense keyed the win at home.  Randy Biehn scattered seven hits while striking out eight for the win. 

The Braves tallied two in the first as Jack Frey doubled, Lynn Schwarz walked, Chuck Kennedy singled and Chuck Squires’ single drove in two. 

Three more were plated in the third when Schwarz and Kennedy singled, Squires had an RBI single and Tim Palmquist singled home two more.  Leading the Brave's attack were Kennedy going three for three and Squires with three RBI's

Belle Plaine Grey Tigers 2   Braves 0

Sparkling defense and throwing strikes resulted in a speedy one hour and fifteen minute contest on the road. 

Belle Plaine broke the ice with a run in the fifth and added an insurance run in the eighth.  Ken Schmidt went the distance for the Braves allowing five hits.  

Joe Driscoll toed the rubber for the Grey Tigers and held the locals to three singles.
