7/9/02 Gray Tigers Regain Winning Ways with a 9-0 Victory over the Millers
B.P. got back in the win column last night with a convincing win over a sound Jordan Millers team, 9 - 0.  Terry Knopp was the winning pitcher giving up just 2 hits on the night.  Knopp also smoked a long homerun over the right field wall in the 4th inning to put the Gray Tigers up 5 - 0.  B.P. closed it out with 4 more in the 7th.  The Gray Tigers finished with 10 hits on the night with Knopp leading the way with 3 RBI.  The Millers played solid defense along with the Gray Tigers as there was only 1 error committed on the night.

Belle Plaine tackles the other Jordan team, the Alers on Thursday night and then close out the week with a 5.00 p.m. tilt at Webster on Sunday. Pitching assignments are not available at press time, but there is speculation that shortstop Paul Lambrecht may be getting his 1st opportunity to make the starting rotation with a strong showing at Webster. Numerous other "wanna-be" pitchers are waiting in the shadows this weekend.  All-star selections to be announced later today.... votes are still being tallied.

7/6/02 Gray Tigers Suffer  1st Defeat of the Season 11-1 at the Hands of the Waconia Islanders

Belle Plaine got their lunch handed to them by Waconia, 11 - 1 at Green Isle on Saturday night.  Charlie Herd took the loss for the Gray Tigers, but did not have much support from the other 8 players on the field.  Waconia did anything they wanted to at will on this day and clearly showed who the better team was on this night.  B.P. has a makeup scheduled with the Jordan Millers on Tuesday night and will host the Alers on Thursday night.

6/30/02 Gray Tigers Hammer Shakopee 16-5 - Move to 9-0

B.P had a huge night of offense as they beat the Shakopee Indians on Sunday night 16 - 5.  B.P. moved to 9 -0 on the season and will play the undefeated Waconia team on Saturday night in Green Isle.  Kevin Studnicka pitched a 7 inning complete game against Shakopee, giving up a ton of hits to the hard hitting Shakopee team, including a home run in the 7th.  Belle Plaines' offense was just to much on a hot and sticky night.  Dennis Lawson, Kenny Tritz, and Mark Hartman each had 3 hits for B.P.  Hartman and Studnicka had long homeruns in this one and Studnicka finished with a 4 RBI night.  With a lack of  position players, Charlie Herd filled in nicely at catcher for the first time in his career.

Waconia on Saturday night..........7.30.  See you at the park.

6/28/02 Gray Tigers Pound LeCenter 15-0  to Remain Undefeated

B.P blasted Le Center on Thursday night 15 - 0.  It was a fight at the bat rack on Thursday night as B.P. pounded out a plethora of safeties throughout this 7 inning affair.  Don (GPS) Sauter pitched the first 5 innings to earn the win, again Sauter was rocked in the first inning but escaped without giving up a run. The Graytigers then realized Sauter would struggle and decided to put a 5 spot on the board in the first, and added 7 more in the 4th inning.  Sid Herd pitched the final 2 innings, giving up no hits and striking out 2.

B.P travels to always a struggle Shakopee on Sunday night
