Minnesota Saints vs West Coast Bombers

The Minnesota Saints (a team of 60+ baseball players) hosted the West Coast Bobcats in a planned five game series beginning Wednesday July 20th in Union Hill.  The following four games of the series were scheduled for Prior Lake, New Prague, Jordan and Veseli over the course of a 5 day period.

The Bobcats, also a 60+ traveling team are based out of San Diego, CA.

 

The Saints played together for the first time in the 2010 MSBL World Series in Phoenix AZ. finishing in second place in October of 2010 with a 7-1 record. They are primarily made up of players from Minnesota, with one player from Florida for this series.

Area players include former MSU head baseball coach Dean Bowyer and his brother Don, legendary Waseca and MSU assistant coach Tink Larson, retired Gaylord and Buffalo Lake/Hector coach/AD Tyrone Wacker, Shakopee veteran Bob Britz, Searles Bullhead player Bruce Jacobs and Bloomington Eagles veteran Colin Quinn, among others.

One game was rained out, but the two teams did manage to get the remaining four games in with the Saints recording a sweep over their West Coast rivals. Game reports are posted and can be accessed via the "Game Reports" link below.
